Both our bars are fully stocked with a range of fine real ales, wines, spirits, cider, soft drinks and of course refreshing lagers.
Real Ale
Unlike lager, real ale is a live product which has to be looked after and served properly to be at its best. This requires constant attention and scrupulous regard to cleaning as well as a really good understanding of the beer itself.
We have served over 200 individual ales in the last year alone, including Raven and Raven's Gold that are brewed specially for us and available only in The Raven.
Wine at The Raven
This is a wonderful time to be buying wine. There is innovation and experimentation going on all over the globe and the Old World trying to keep up with the New.
We try to reflect this with a mixture of modern classics from the new world such as Australian Chardonnay and Shiraz, and New Zealand Sauvignon. Along side these we have representatives from the Old World such as a French Cabernet-Syrah and Italian Chianti. All the noble grapes are represented including a lovely Pinot Noir. To add an little spice we also have some of the up and coming varieties such as the little known Viognier, the Chillean Carmenere and a surprisingly good English wine.
